Marriage License Application Checklist
Requirements:
- Both applicants must be 18 and present at the time of application.
What to bring:
- $45.00 for the license fee (cash, check, or card) *NOTE the fee will be $50.00 beginning 1/1/2026
- Valid identification
- Divorce decree or date of death of previous spouse (if applicable)
What to know about yourselves:
- Full current name
- Occupation
- City/state of birthplace
- Address of residence
- Social security number
What to know about your parents:
- Full current name
- Mother’s maiden name
- City/state of birthplace
- Address of residence
- Occupations
When to apply:
- Pennsylvania requires a minimum 3-day waiting period after application before the license can be issued. The license is then valid for 60 days from the date of issuance.
