  • 911 Dispatcher

    The objective of this position is to obtain information accurately and properly process the request to appropriate individuals.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent. Applicants MUST successfully complete the training requirements offered and requested by Jefferson County 911 and EMB Program (or equivalent) as soon as the trainings are offered.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, categorizing emergency service requests, prioritizing calls, dispatching the appropriate emergency service units, and monitoring and updating the status, providing additional support as requested.

  • DOD Director of Community Development

    The objective of this position is to provide professional and efficient coordination in response to the county and local municipalities’ community development and redevelopment initiatives. This position is responsible for community development projects throughout the county.

    Applicants MUST have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Five years relevant working experience PREFERRED.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing programs to meet the community development and redevelopment goals and objectives of the county, local municipalities, and authorities. Other job responsibilities include coordinating programs and projects, preparing grant applications, coordinating with other agencies and funding sources, preparing project specifications, conducting progress inspections, assisting homeowners with loans and grants, and inspecting dwellings.

  • Maintenance Worker

    The objective of this position is to perform general maintenance duties at all county buildings and ensure the physical buildings and grounds are maintained for safety and security.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, changing light bulbs, mowing grass, shoveling snow from walkways and driveways, painting buildings/fixtures/other objects, collecting trash/recyclables, and transporting materials between departments. Other job responsibilities include performing carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs throughout the county buildings and checking equipment for proper operation, making minor adjustments when necessary.

  • Register & Recorder Clerk

    The objective of this position is to perform specialized departmental clerical duties and responsibilities within the department.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent, plus some business/clerical and computer training. Applicants MUST have 1-2 years work experience in an office setting, court system preferred.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the general public, updating information to the computer database, docketing and/or expunging cases when required, maintaining inventory of supplies, assisting in collecting monies due to the department, and compiling data within the department for completion of reports.

  • TC ASMT GIS/Field Assessor

    The objective of this position is to maintain and develop geographic information used to produce maps and related information in order to support land records, emergency response functions, planning and development. The objective of this position is also to assist in the evaluation of all real estate/property, transfer ownership in accordance with applicable state and county regulations, and plot deed descriptions to maps and computers.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or another related field PREFERRED. Within one year of their hire, applicants MUST obtain (and maintain) a Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator license and fulfill mandatory education courses required as approved by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating/maintaining/updating the data system necessary to support the county specified GIS functions, providing GIS technical support and information to county departments and other agencies, producing maps, scanning and maintaining digital copies of plans and surveys, assigning new addresses and coordinating with the appropriate agencies, assisting with tax questions, assessing properties, surveying the entire county for changes, computing the value of real property, and transferring deed transactions.
