  • Adult Probation Officer

    The objective of this position is to counsel and/or supervise a caseload of offenders and probationers, attempting to successfully reintegrate them into the community; the objective is also to assist the courts with probation situations and to enforce the court’s policies and procedures. Duties vary according to the specific assignments of the individual Probation Officer.

    Applicants MUST have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field. Applicants also MUST complete 40 hours of in-service training per year and have a valid PA driver’s license. 3-4 years of human services related experience required in probation/parole, corrections, police, or other related field, or any acceptable combination of equivalent training and/or education.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing social histories and conducting interviews regarding offenders, preparing reports on the outcome of the investigations, providing counseling and other supportive services, maintaining contact and scheduling meetings, monitoring probationers’ activities, conducting random drug/alcohol testing, conducting research on whereabouts of missing probationers, assisting with arrests, and participating in court hearings.

  • Tax Assessment Data Collector

    The objective of this position is to gather specific data through observation, photography, measuring, and interviewing owners of identified properties in all municipalities within the county as well as to support and enhance the functions of the Assessment office by collecting complete and accurate data used in the valuation process under the general supervision of Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator (CPE) staff.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent. Applicants MUST also have a valid driver’s license.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting data including measurements/location/characteristics of the local neighborhood/nearby roads/utilities, collecting data on all residential/commercial/industrial properties, surveying the entire county for undocumented changes, and transferring all deed transactions/right of ways.
